Description

Elementary my dear Watson

This serendipidious studio is awfully clever. Just a few cunning strides from North Gower Street where Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman film the lastest Sherlock Holmes series, lurks an innovative apartment that amply lives up to Sir Arthur Conan Doyles’ resourceful style.

Think outside the box

Cook up a storm with a dinner party for six, spend an evening lounging with old friends, punch above your weight in a meeting, heads down for some work or just relax in bed in the softly lit room: it’s a no brainer in Drummond Street. A veritable Tardis, the space seamlessly converts from one classy designer use to another.

Attention to detail

Real ability always shows, from the contemporary comfort of the carefully chosen sofas to the sense of spaciousness throughout this bright apartment. Stylish furnishings and beautifully matched colours tone with just a hint of the dramatic to create a wonderfully calm home to return to. Whether you are staying for a week or twelve, there’s a place for everything in this studio. Nothing is forgotten: from the passport safe to the keyholders, an abundance of well thought through touches will perfect your stay.

Easy as pie

Outside awaits one of London’s most exciting and best-connected areas to explore. Meander through Bloomsbury to the British Museum, enjoy Covent Garden and stroll on to discover theatreland in Leicester Square or the shopping in Regent and Oxford Street, Mayfair and Marylebone. Or go by tube, a 3 minute walk to Euston, and only 5 minutes on the tube . Marvel at the soaring glass roof of St Pancras station, whizz to Paris on Eurostar for lunch. While away an afternoon at the British Library or jump aboard a train to Cambridge, you’ll be admiring the famous ‘Backs’ of the Cambridge Colleges from your punt in under an hour!

It’s a piece of cake

Sample popular ethnic vegetarian restaurants on your doorstep, or dine in splendour in one of the dazzling array of award winning restaurants nearby – visit the newly regenerated Granary Square with every palate from street food to cool dining within a short walk. Or push the boat out at some of London’s finest eateries.

All Greek to me

At Kings Cross, find platform 9 and 3/4, take in the hip hop art galleries, discover Camley Nature Park, London’s newest urban reserve. Take a walk along Regent’s Canal, pop up to visit Camden Lock and Market, mix with the pretty young things and actors in Primrose Hill. Stroll back through 410 acres of Regent’s Park (an entrance to the park is just 10 minutes walk away) – take in the fabulous roses in Queen Mary’s Gardens, London Zoo, the boating lake or Hanover Gate’s play areas & treehouse for older kids. And don’t miss the vintage & retro fun of Alfie’s Antique Market in Lisson Grove, Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madam Tussauds on the way back.

Happy as a clam

After all that hard work, take a quick shower followed by a warm fluffly towel, pad across the silky rug, flop onto those comfy sofas, use the remote to flick on the candlelight and relax in this tranquil haven. Want to entertain some friends? Flip open the glossy Italian coffee table and hey presto, a dining room for 6 appears. Or just one or two? Lift up the oak stained bar and there’s room enough for four. Chuck the wine glasses in the Fisher Paykel dishwasher, throw the clothes in your Bosch washer/dryer and use one hand to command the magic Clei revolving bed. Left your night cap on the other side? Don’t worry, it won’t spill a drop. Pour another, add some ice and sink into the crisply ironed sheets. Bliss.

Location

Drummond Street is a thriving hub of activity. With the ongoing regeneration project, the area literally buzzes with exciting developments. From the new Google headquarters to recently completed Francis Crick Insitute, the area is fast becoming one of the most attractive places to visit, live and work in central London. The ethnic feel of such a long established neighbourhood as Drummond Street has been preserved, with many restaurants, cafes, gyms, Regent’s Park, Bloomsbury, Kings Cross, St Pancras, Marylebone and shopping on Tottenham Court Road on the doorstep.

Cut to the chase

  • This is a studio apartment of 25m2 / 250sq ft.
  • The apartment is accessed by one flight of steps down from street level.
  • Like many lower ground floor properties throughout London, the underground passes beneath the property. Rumbling from deep within the tunnels can be heard. Trains do not run between 12:00-5:00am Monday to Friday. All night trains run Friday to Sunday nights inclusive.
  • Terrestrial TV not cable TV channels.
  • The ‘Bedroom’ is created in the Studio by using the revolving Italian Clei Murphy drop down King size bed
  • Demolition works for HS2 are ongoing in the immediate area during working hours.
  • Drummond Street is a popular meeting place for drinks after work. During the summer months, early evening noise can be heard from visitors to the Crown and Anchor pub across the road.
